Enter Your Charity
Every charity finalist will walk away with funding of between £5,000 and £50,000
Why enter Angels’ Den?
Taking part in Angels’ Den gives your charity access to much more than a potential grant.
As a finalist, you will have the opportunity to pitch your organisation and funding ask directly to successful entrepreneurs, philanthropists, business leaders and community champions.
Our Angels bring more than money. They bring experience, networks, ideas and a genuine desire to champion the charities they support. For many charities, the experience is valuable long after the event itself. Finalists gain confidence, clearer messaging, new connections and a stronger platform from which to talk about their work.
What every finalist receives
-
Every finalist will receive funding on the night. The amount awarded will depend on the strength of the pitch, the clarity of the ask and the potential impact of the project or work being presented.
-
Finalists will be supported with expert presentation coaching to help them define their ask, shape their story and prepare for the live event.
-
Your charity will have the opportunity to present to a live audience of Angels, supporters, partners and invited guests.
-
Angels’ Den creates space for conversations, introductions and relationships that can continue well beyond the evening.
-
Being selected as a finalist gives your charity a valuable opportunity to raise awareness of your cause and the communities you support.
Every charity selected as a finalist will receive:
How it works
Submit your application
1
Charities apply to Focus Foundation, outlining their organisation, the work they do, the funding they are seeking and the impact that support would make.
Applications are reviewed
2
Our team carefully reviews each application and carries out due diligence to understand the charity, its project, its impact and its readiness for Angels’ Den.
Finalists are selected
3
Once due diligence is complete our team select the charity finalists who will take part in the live event.
Pitch coaching begins
4
Each finalist receives professional support to help them prepare a clear, confident and compelling two-minute pitch.
Pitch live to the Angels
5
At the event, each charity has two minutes to present their organisation and project to the Angels and a live audience.
Funding is awarded
6
At the end of the evening, funding is allocated across the finalists, with every charity receiving between £5,000 and £50,000.
What makes a strong application?
A strong Angels’ Den application should be clear, focused and specific.
We want to understand who you help, why your work matters and what could be achieved with the right support. The most compelling applications usually have a clear ask, a practical plan and a strong explanation of the difference funding would make.
Try to avoid broad or general statements. Be specific about the need, the opportunity and the impact.
For example, rather than saying:
“We need funding to support more people.”
A stronger ask might explain:
“£25,000 would allow us to deliver a 12-month support programme for 80 young people at risk of exclusion, providing weekly mentoring, family support and access to specialist intervention.”
The clearer the ask, the easier it is for Angels to understand the difference your support could make.
Angels’ Den is built on the belief that charities often need more than financial support to grow their impact.
The right conversation, introduction or champion can open doors that would otherwise remain closed. That is why our Angels are encouraged to bring their experience and networks as well as their funding.
For charities, this means the event can lead to much more than the amount awarded on the night. It can create new supporters, fresh opportunities and relationships that help strengthen your organisation for the future.
