The Angels’ Den concept was the brainchild of Mike Clare, founder of The Clare Foundation. Launched in 2023 this event brought together some of the UK’s most influential entrepreneurs to support charitable organisations.
The Concept
Five generous entrepreneurs, known as "Angels," each pledge £10,000, forming a total fund of £50,000. This amount is then matched by Focus Foundation, creating total funding of £100,000. These visionary business leaders not only contribute financially but also provide mentorship, guidance, and networking opportunities to help charities develop sustainable growth strategies.
Carefully selected charities pitch their missions and projects to the Angels in a live event, where they have the chance to share their inspiring stories, highlight their impact, and present their vision for the future. The event is designed to be a high-energy, engaging experience where charities not only compete for funding, but also gain valuable exposure and new supporters.
Every charity will walk away with support, whether through financial contributions, strategic advice, or new connections. However, those who present the most compelling and innovative cases for impact will receive the highest funding allocations, ensuring their projects can achieve meaningful and lasting change in their communities.
